The privacy of your data — and it is your data, not ours! — is a big deal to us. We’ll only ever access your account to help you with a problem.
Identity & access
When you sign up for Focus 5, we ask for your company name, and email address. That's just so you can personalize your new account, and we can send you invoices, updates, or other essential information. We’ll never sell your personal info to third parties, and we won’t use your name or company in marketing statements without your permission.
When you write Focus 5 with a question or to ask for help, we'll keep that correspondence, and the email address, for future reference. When you browse our marketing pages, we'll track that for statistical purposes (like conversion rates and to test new designs). We also store any information you volunteer, like surveys, for as long as it makes sense.
The only times we’ll ever share your info:
- To provide products or services you've requested, with your permission.
- To investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of our Terms of Service, or as otherwise required by law or process.
Focus 5 won’t hand your data over to law enforcement unless a court order says we have to. We flat-out reject requests from local and federal law enforcement when they seek data without a court order. And unless we're legally prevented from it, we’ll always inform you when such requests are made.
Focus 5 takes reasonable precautions to keep your Personal Information secure. All personally identifiable information is subject to restricted access to prevent unauthorized access, modification or misuse.
Collection of personal information
Under this Policy, "Personal Information" means personally identifiable information such as your name, street address, telephone number, e-mail address, birth date, and credit card billing information.
When you provide us with Personal Information, you are authorizing us to use that information in accordance with the terms of this Policy, which includes your right to limit our use of your Personal Information (see Who To Contact About This Policy below).
We may also collect Personal Information from you about a third party (e.g., our Website might allow you to send an electronic "post card" to a friend, in which case we will need that person's name and e-mail address). Please note that we use such information only for the specified purpose (e.g., to mail the post card). We will not contact the third party again unless and until the third party contacts us.
Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act Notice: Focus 5 does not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under the age of thirteen. Our products and services are not directed to children under the age of 13. In the event that we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under the age of 13 without parental consent, we will delete that information as quickly as reasonably possible.
How We Use Your Information
When you supply us with your Personal Information we will use it only for the purpose for which it was collected (e.g., to register you for a class). It may also be used to contact you regarding other services and products that may be of interest to you (including those we may offer jointly with other organizations). At any time, however, you may opt out of such contact.
To help Focus 5 improve our services and our web site, we may retain third parties to analyze data we collect, including Personal Information. These third parties are not authorized by us to use your Personal Information in any other way.
In addition, we may partner with third parties to provide our services and products. If we have co-marketed our services and products with these third parties, we may share your Personal Information with them.
Focus 5 does not sell Personal Information. We will release your Personal Information if required to do so by law.
Other Information We May Collect
In addition, we routinely try to improve how we promote our web site. To help us do this, we may measure the effectiveness of our web presence by determining what you clicked on to get to our site. Site measurement statistics may be used to personalize your web site experience, as well as to evaluate - anonymously and in the aggregate - statistics about usage of the web site. Information about your computer, such as your IP address (a number assigned to your computer whenever you surf the Internet), the type of Internet browser you are using and the type of computer operating system you are using may also be collected and linked to your Personal Information. This is to ensure that our web site presents the best web experience for visitors, and that they are an effective information resource.
Finally, some of the pages you visit may use pixel tags (also called clear gifs) to collect information about your navigation on our Website. This information is used to evaluate and enhance how the Website functions.
Notice to California Residents: Focus 5 does not currently maintain a process for individuals who use or visit the Website to review and request changes to any of their personally identifiable information collected through the Website.
